Poem about Ambivalence

by Randi

Ambivalence is an internal island

Ships pass

Each contemplated

Their commitment to a horizon

Whispers of unsettling consideration

Once solid ground, now tectonic plates

Shifting.

The firm stance slides

We are split, exposed

Does no one see this?

Please don’t look.  I am strong.  I am strong.

This isn’t happening

yet it is all of me.

Discovering the destination

was a pit stop

Internal compass spinning

The sky, once a mirror is dark

Dare I look at the stars?

Yes, dare! And fly among the stars, which, of course, you already do.  Beautiful!

    Hugs and butterflies,
